A Missing Eye and Vintage Chinese: Day 18

My first order of business was to complete my recap of the Suits Summer finale. I'm very happy to see that everyone is on the right side, except for perhaps what happened in the cliffhanger. If you missed it, the recap is here: "'Suits' Summer Finale Recap: Who Will 'Stay' at Pearson Specter?"

The next thing I finished was my daily nonsense post. It basically takes "punking" to the extreme: "Daily Jabberwocky: The Punk'd Man with Monocular Vision." If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please try it out by signing up using my referral link.

Today's #FMSPhotoADay prompt for Day 18 (Sep. 18) is "Vintage." My mother has a 100 year-old vintage Chinese man. You would think that my mother was Chinese, as she has always decorated her home with a bit of a Chinese flair. Even when she decorates in another style, there's always a Chinese tinge or feel to the design.

Kitties from Behind and on the Chimney: Day 17

Before I get into my daily stuff, I have some great news! In the past, I've written recaps for Person of Interest, Elementary, and Grimm for Yahoo! TV. Well, now I'll be writing tweet-caps for POI and Elementary, and gif-caps for Grimm, which will also include fan tweets. I'll be searching for fans of each show on Twitter, and creating lists of fans for each. If you'll be tweeting your reactions to one or more of these shows, please put your Twitter handle in the comments, with the name of each show you'll be tweeting about. You can also tweet me at @kristenhead with the name of the shows.

Today's nonsense comes from my thoughts about my fireplace. I don't know why I was thinking about the fireplace when it's still so hot during the day, but perhaps it comes from seeing my cats hanging out on the roof, leaning against the top of the chimney. And now it's wood the peeks out of the top of the chimney: "Daily Jabberwocky: How to Build Wood from Ash and Fairy Dust." If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please try it out by signing up using my referral link.

The #FMSPhotoADay prompt for today, Day 17 (Sep 17), is "In Front of Me." Guess what? It's another kitty photo! Miss Kitty's "behind" is in front of me:

You'll Be All Ears When I Talk about My Frame: Day 16

My Copper recap for Sunday's episode was published this morning. The episode felt strangely like a finale until the very end. It was an awesome episode, but they almost could have ended it without the little cliffhanger ending, and we would have been happy until next year. But no, they had to add something that will surely cover more than just one episode. That means we will probably have another cliffhanger in the finale. If you missed it, here's my recap: "'Copper' Episode Recap: Kevin Corcoran is a 'Beautiful Dreamer'."

Today's nonsense post is all about YOU, and you are a creature with apparently large ears who listens when you aren't supposed to, but doesn't listen when you are supposed to. Don't worry, it's just another bit of jibber jabber! Here ya go: "Daily Jabberwocky: The Eustachian Tube Gave Up Your Lax Ways." If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please try it out by signing up using my referral link.

The #FMSPhotoADay prompt for today is "Frame." I decided to take a photo of our brand new windows, with their new frames. The windows are tinted so that they reflect light durning the day, and you can't see inside. At night, we will be closing the blinds. We are using sheets until the new blinds come in. We are replacing the horizontals with verticals so we no longer have to spend our lives dusting.

Anyway, I had to take the photos at an extreme angle to avoid getting a shot that appeared as though it was a mere photo of the house across the street. Both photos are of the window and its frame. That's right, you are looking at a reflection of my car and some trees. I took second photo from another angle to give you a better idea of what you are looking at:

Blank Lines in the Fall: Day 15

My nonsense post for the day was the longest I've written so far at two whole paragraphs. All my others are only one. I tend to do a lot of math in my head, and thinking of shapes and puzzles and logic and such, so perhaps I got a bit in the weeds once the subject of lines entered my head. Some people seem to have gotten a kick out of it, however, judging from the comments. Here it is: "Daily Jabberwocky: Attack of the Killer Parallel Blank Lines!" If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please try it out by signing up using my referral link.

The #FMSPhotoADay prompt for today, Day 15 (Sep 15) is "Season." As summer moves into fall, the leaves are just beginning to change from deep green to gold. One of my favorite trees in the corner of the yard already has a few yellow leaves, and others that are not quite as green as they used to be:

Androids Need Sheep and I Need Water: Day 14

My daily nonsense diverges from counting sheep to a very strange place in the back of my mind. I think these things are the result of growing up on a steady stream of Twilight Zone and other sci-fi shows. Heck, the first movie I ever saw in the theater as a kid was Star Wars! My mother was and is a sci-fi addict, and raised me to be one too. She never shut down my wild thoughts, or told me my ideas weren't any good.

So, this is the kind of crazy that comes from a free mind. I encourage others to join me in insanity! Here's another daily dose of the insanity of which I speak: "Daily Jabberwocky: Androids Need Sheep's Wool for Their Freezing Arctic Cousins!" If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please try it out by signing up using my referral link.

The #FMSPhotoADay prompt for Day 14 (Sep 14) is "Liquid." Here is a photo of a glass of water, from very close up, with several fancy bracelets sitting behind it:

Lava Suits and Kicking water: Day 13

So my daily nonsense post got a little weird today. I think it was based on the fact that I heard some strange barking a couple of houses down, which always makes me worry a little about my cats. I have to do the rounds and make sure I can see them all resting in their favorite spots in the yard. If I don't see one or more of them, I have just a little spot in my stomach that worries until I see them again.

The other thing was that I watched Star Trek: Into Darkness with my visiting family last night. There's a scene with tons of lava spilling around and what is basically a "lava suit." So those are the two things that brought forth the strange ideas in my "Daily Jabberwocky," which you can view here: "Daily Jabberwocky: The Dogs that Made Me Jump to Madagascar." If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please use my referral link.

The #FMSPhotoADay prompt for Day 13 (Sep 13) is "Unexpected." While visiting, my brother accidentally kicked his own water glass, soaking something I had been working on. Luckily, I have it saved on my computer.

I have an auto-inflating queen-size bed that he sets up in the living room, and it butts up against the coffee table. He then sets his glasses of water and wine right next to the foot of the bed when he goes to sleep (good thing he always finishes the wine before bed). This is the first time he has knocked over his water. I actually felt bad for him because it woke him from deep sleep, and he had to get up to clean it. This, in turn, caused him to sleep in, leaving him little time to get ready to hit the road for home.

Smoking Men and Kitty Shadows: Day 12

Bubblews was down for most of the day, so I was a little late getting my "Daily Jabberwocky" nonsense posted. This one was one of my favorites, because of the layout. I don't want to give anything away in case you want to read it, because I'd like it to be a surprise. Just know that it's sort of a From Dusk Till Dawn type of deal in it's structure (not in its content). Here it is: "Daily Jabberwocky: The Cogarette-Smoking Man Under My Shoe." If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please use my referral link.

The #FMSPhotoADay prompt for today is "Shadow." Once again, I decided to incorporate my cute little kitties in the photos. I did do one at the bottom without any kitties though.

Day 11 TV, Nonsense and Photo: 'Suits,' Short Aliens and Cute Kitty

First thing this morning, my Suits recap was published on Yahoo! TV. It was another great episode, leading up to the Season 3 finale next week.If you haven't checked it out, you can catch it on Amazon, and a few other outlets as well. Here it is: "'Suits' Episode Recap: Harvey and Jessica Act in 'Bad Faith'."

Next, I created my morning nonsense post. This time, I had aliens on the brain (as is common for me). In yet another sci-fi bit of nonsense, I write about short, fat aliens from the planet Sparta: "Daily Jabberwocky: The Short Blue Aliens of the Planet Sparta." If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please use my referral link.

The prompt for #FMSPhotoADay Day 11 is "What You Did Today." For 9/11, I wanted to spend the day with loved ones. I'm here with my parents, and my brother is visiting as well. I'm not really into posting photos of my family for privacy, but I also have pets as part of my family. So, to start the morning off right, I cuddled with my kitty loved one (yes, another excuse for cute kitty photos)! Here's Miss Kitty at her cuddling best:

Day 10 Nonsense and Photo: Bubbles and Homemade Ice Cream!

I didn't have anything to write for Yahoo! today, but I did get a tentative OK for writing a series of animated Tweet-caps I proposed to my editor. It's not for sure, because the managing editor has to OK it, and they may also need to get authorization from the network as well. Other than that, it's a go, so I'm excited they liked the idea!

For my daily bit of nonsense, I came up with something that is both odd and meaningful at the same time. There's a hidden meaning about plagiarism using a fart as a metaphor. I didn't want to offend anyone, so I didn't use the actual word. I hope I didn't offend anyone just now! The funny thing is that the fart (sorry) represents what to do right! Here ya go: "Daily Jabberwocky: You May Eat Bubbles, but Not Muggles!"  If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please use my referral link.

The #FMSPhotoADay prompt for today (Day 10, Sep. 10) is "Sweet." So, I took a picture of my homemade ice cream. I ate the rest of my chocolate, so I took a photo of some vanilla. I put it in the chocolate container, so the brown stuff on the sides is from left-over chocolate. YUM!

Another Triple: 'Copper,' Violent Shirt Tigers, and More Kitty Photos!

The first thing I did very early this morning (which could also be considered late last night) was to write my recap for Copper. It's not due until morning, but I actually got up at 3:30 am. Why? Because Miss Kitty slept with me on my bed, and mama's boy Booty decided to walk down the hall and meow up a storm for mama's attention until she got fed up and asked to be let out in the front yard.

I tried to get back to sleep, but was wide awake at that point. So, I went ahead and wrote my article before finally getting tired again and going back to sleep. I should actually do that more often, because I got a special message from my editor saying that the recap was particularly good, and that my tone was superb. My lack of sleep paid off!

Anyway, another reason I feel the recap was good was because I really enjoyed the episode. It left off on a nail-biting cliffhanger, and contained an awesome scene between Matthew and the shop owner. You tell 'em, Matthew! If you missed the episode, you can read the recap to understand what I'm talking about: "'Copper' Episode 'Good Heart and Willing Hand' Recap: Donovan Must Be Stopped."

Later, I wrote my "Daily Jabberwocky" nonsense post. I don't know what made me think of living tigers bursting out of my shirt, but it was sure a fun thought to have in my head! Please enjoy the random thoughts from inside the KristenHead: "Daily Jabberwocky: The Tiger Shirt Tried to Bite Off My Face." If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please use my referral link.

Finally, I have to share three #FMSPhotoADay posts at the same time once again, because I decided to take off the weekend to do some organizing. My last post was also a triple-header because I was busy remodeling the windows on the front of my house. This time, I decided to use the weekend to do some organizing and cleaning after the remodel.

Anyway, the photo prompts for #FMSPhotoADay were "White" for Day 7, "Made by Me" for Day 8, and "On the Wall" for today, Day 9 (Sep 9). The descriptions for each photo are in the captions:

Day 7, "White": I showcase white here by contrasting it with black.
Tippy is all dark black, except for his cute little tippy tale and chin.
Day 8, "Made by Me": Some "delicious" cat food.
Made with raw turkey and a package of kitty vitamin supplements.
Day 9, "On the Wall": A beautiful collection of butterflies.
My mother got this in Florida, signed by the artist who mounted it.

Triple-Header: Back from a Break

So, I was off the Internet for a couple of days because I was working on the house. We had all the windows on the front of the house replace with double-paned glass. The old windows were the originals were from 1974, when the house was built. They were horrible! The house already feels cooler with the new windows. It's really lucky they were finished yesterday because today was extremely hot. We would have been miserable had the windows not been replaced.

In that time, I also took off from doing my daily nonsense post. I did do it today, however, so I do have one bit of nonsense for you. It's just not as nonsensical as my usual nonsense posts. Here it is: "Daily Jabberwocky: Back From Bubblews Break with a Fan." It has all the humor of a baked potato, but at least there's a teeny bit of randomness there. If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make a cent on every view, like, comment and share in the process, please use my referral link.

One of my articles also published in the morning two days ago for Yahoo! TV. My weekly Suits article is a recap of one of my favorite shows this week. Man, I love Donna and Harvey and Louis! Those characters are truly unique, and live up to USA Network's motto of "Characters Welcome." Mike does too, but his individuality comes from an interesting talent more than his outward personality. Here is my article: "'Suits' Episode 'Endgame' Recap: Will Stephen Get What He Deserves?"

As for #FMSPhotoADay, I'm going to make up for the two days I missed plus today all in this one post. The day 4 prompt is "Alone," day 5 was "Here Forever" and today (day 6) is "Getting Ready." My descriptions for each photo are in the captions.
"Alone": This is actually an old photo, from about six months ago.
This is Teensy when she was a very small kitten.
I used this photo, because it's the first one I always think of when I think of "alone."
She has always been the least tame, yet always seems to want to be involved.
She constantly sits on the outskirts of any activity I do with the other kitties,
and stares at us longingly. She seems to want to be involved, but she's just too scared.
"Here Forever": This tree has been "here forever,"
or at least since the time we bought the house, in 1984.
I'm not sure when it was actually planted,
but it's old enough for me to think of it as forever.

"Getting Ready": Furball gets ready for the day with a nice
grooming from mama Miss Kitty.
He'll soon be ready for a night out on the town!

Dailies: Eating Bunnies, Watching 'Copper,' Chasing Lines

So today I have my daily nonsense post, an article I've written for Yahoo! TV, and my daily #FMSPhotoADay. I'll start with a bit of nonsense! Today, I actually had Lost on the brain. If you've seen the show (which I just watched for the first time over the last couple of months), you may remember Charlie's band Drive Shaft singing that song "You All Everybody." Well, while I was exercising, that song title transformed into the following post: "Daily Jabberwocky: You Ate Every Bunny!" If you'd like to join the site to write your own posts of 400 characters or more and make money in the process, please use my referral link.

Next, an article I wrote on Monday morning was just published. Yahoo! TV doesn't publish Yahoo! Contributor content on holidays, so it's a day late, since the show was on Sunday. If you watch Copper on BBC America, you may enjoy this recap. If you don't watch the show, you really should start! It's awesome! Here's the article: 'Copper' Episode 'The Fine Ould Irish Gentleman' Recap: Donovan Goes Too Far.

Finally, today's #FMSPhotoADay prompt was: Lines. The first thing I thought of when I read that was the crazy electrical lines in my back yard, which have fallen fairly low to the ground, and are now passing right through the side of one of my trees! While I was out there, I saw a few other "lines" that I couldn't resist shooting.
Electrical lines going through the side of my tree
A little fence in the corner of my yard

The fence around my part of my back yard

Another part of the little fence in the corner
The main fence around my entire back yard

Daily Nonesense and Photo: Alien Slugs and Ks

My "Daily Jabberwocky" today was all about alien slugs: "Daily Jabberwocky: The Dragon Eats the Pink Alien Slug that Ate the Man's Heart." Please consider joining me on Bubblews by clicking my referral link, then post your profile in the comments so we can connect on the site!

And today's #FMSPhotoADay photo prompt gave me yet another excuse to put up a kitty photo! YAY! Today's prompt is: "My name begins with..." Well, what's the cutest way to represent the letter K than with a kute kitty? So, here's Miss Kitty herself, in all her lazy glory:
She's even trying to give you a "K" sign, but she's just a bit too lazy to stick that other paw out. :)

Back with Photos and a New Set of Posts!

I'm finally going to get back to my blog with the Fat Mum Slim Photo a Day challenge (#FMSPhotoADay)! I've also started writing for a site called Bubblews.

Bubblews is a site where you can actually make money writing short blog posts of on 400 characters or more. That's right, I said 400 characters, not words. Here is my referral link for the site. If you sign up, I will make 20 cents on your first post. If you do the same with your friends and fellow bloggers, you will receive the same benefits! In addition, you make 1 cent on every view, like, and comment on your posts, and you can submit up to 10 posts per day! Just make sure to read their terms very carefully, as you will not get paid if you break the rules! If you decide to sign up, please include your profile link below so we can connect on the site.

OK, so I've been writing something called Daily Jabberwocky each day on Bubblews, so I'm going to link my daily post each day along with my daily photo. Today's post was "Daily Jabberwocky: You're Really Gettin' Crazy with Your Ax!" These nonsense posts are not everyone's cup of tea, but some people really get a kick out of them. It has sort of become my calling card on Bubblews. I could probably do the #FMSPhotoADay challenge right on Bubblews as well, but I'd like to have something to offer on my blog that is different from what I put up on Bubblews. I will never simply copy/paste a blog post to Bubblews.

I will also be catching up on past comments, while responding to any new ones. Sorry if you asked any questions or gave me awards in past comments. I will catch up with them eventually. :)

So, here we go! The #FMSPhotoADay word for today is: Together. And here it is: three of my kitties, snuggling together. Aren't they cute? :)
